DRAKE — TAKE CARE (MUSIC VIDEO)

I am a big fan of Drake’s Take Care album. I know some people were disappointed (Ghostface’s LOLtastic review of it here) but I’ve been listening to it often this past year. The single Take Care samples Gil Scott Heron mixed by Jamie XX, probably one of the most genius collabs of the year. The music video just dropped and I’m speechless by the simple and beautiful cinematography.¬†Yoann Lemoine (director) did Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” (love love love) and Lana del Rey’s “Born to Die” (ehhhh) and I’d say he’s executed something rather breathtaking once again. Check it out below.

MOSAIC WHISPERS — UMBRELLA (ACAPELLA COVER)

I’m putting my WUSTL pride on and introducing you all to the Mosaic Whispers. I recently went to their Splash of Color concert and I was delighted by the wonderful choices of songs and the incredibly strong voices. One that I particularly loved was a rendition of Rihanna’s Umbrella: Cassie Parks’ vocals have depth and power, the arrangement was impressively fluid and original, and I loved when the group suddenly engaged with the audience at the end. Their cover is in a tournament on TopBlip.com and I’ve gone ahead and voted for them. Take a listen, sign in on Facebook, and give the acapella group 5 musical notes! VOTE HERE!
