AUTRE NE VEUT — COUNTING

Autre Ne Veut is a Brooklander whose sounds reminds me a lot of How to Dress Well. Falsettos, a modified R&B, and a slightly trap-ish instrumental. His single ‘Counting’ immerses you in all of these elements, and has a really steady and satisfying rhythm. This song is sadly about his dying grandmother and you can really feel the heartache, the tensions, and the confusion of such an experience. Enjoy.

STRANGE TALK — FALLING IN LOVE

Australian band Strange Talk is the right amount of pop and a substantial punch of electronic. A little like Cut Copy, a little like Passion Pit, their sound is loud and exciting. They’ve capitalized on this catchy “I think I’m falling in love,” over and over again, with these great heavy electronic breaks in between. Their album is to debut in 2013 and if they keep rolling out singles like these, I’m confident they’ll be all over the music scene.

SEA WOLF — OLD WORLD ROMANCE

Boy, am I late to review my favorite albums of the fall! Sea Wolf’s Old World Romance has been streaming via Rdio for a while, and I give it a solid 10. Maybe I’m being too generous with my rating, but I have been craving some classy indie, folksy indie rock and I’ve been rockin’ out to ‘Saint Catherine St’ and ‘Miracle Cure’. ‘Changing Seasons’ is that song everyone needs just to be reminded that change is always happening, and man, that’s okay. Listen via SoundCloud, or buy the album like I did!
